hotkeys software package provides A hotkeys daemon for your Internet/multimedia keyboard in X, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install hotkeys
hotkeys is installed in your system.
Make ensure the hotkeys package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep hotkeys *
You will get with hotkeys package name, version, architecture and description in a table
